The mission of the Central Florida Bear Hunters Association (CFBHA) is to protect and promote the rights of all houndsmen to work hounds in the State of Florida. CFBHA aims to ensure the practical implementation of universally recognized right to hunt. It is committed to strengthening the relationship between all houndsmen and providing them with the highest quality support. CFBHA is committed to promoting the realization of the right to development of hunting with hounds and to strengthening a rights-based approach to development. CFBHA engages in dialogue with local, state and national governments on hunting with hounds issues, with a view of promoting hunting with hounds, and toward improved respect for rights of the individual to hunt with hounds; it provides advisory services and technical assistance when requested, and encourages governments to pursue the development of effective national institutions and procedures for the protection of hunting with hounds. An essential condition for the success of hunting with hounds is that governments, national institutions, non-governmental organizations are increasingly empowered to take on hunting with hounds related activities on their own, within the context of regional or sub-regional strategies. CFBHA seeks to play an active role in removing obstacles and meeting challenges to the full realization of all hunting with hounds. To achieve this CFBHA will work closely with all bodies, regional organizations, national and non-governmental organizations, the media and civil society. Public awareness will play a major roll in the development of hunting with hounds. This will be achieved through learning, education and development of all sectors of the public. CFBHA seeks to heighten public awareness, particularly through education of the youth.
